International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), recognized around the world on December 3rd of each year, promotes the mobilization of awareness and support surrounding the challenges and barriers people with disabilities face on a daily basis. IDPD aims to highlight the importance of visibility across all systems and communities in an effort to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities, with the ultimate goal of achieving an accessible and inclusive world for all.

Disability Rights Education Defense Funds, Inc.

The Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) is a national law and policy center dedicated to furthering the civil and human rights of people with disabilities. Founded in 1979, DREDF continues to be managed and directed by people with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities. Our work promotes the full integration of people with disabilities into the mainstream of society.

Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies

The mission of The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies is equity for people with disabilities and people with access and functional needs throughout all planning, programs, services and procedures before, during and after disasters and emergencies.

Disability Rights Advocates

With offices in California and New York, Disability Rights Advocates (DRA) is one of the leading nonprofit disability rights legal centers in the nation. Its mission is to advance equal rights and opportunity for people with all types of disabilities nationwide. DRA identifies and dismantles barriers in partnership with a broad network of local and national client organizations, representing people with the full spectrum of disabilities, including mobility, sensory, cognitive, and psychiatric. DRA represents these organizations in complex, system-change class-action cases. DRA never charges its clients for representation. In the organization’s 25 year history, DRA has taken on hundreds of cases and won almost all—achieving dramatic improvements for people with disabilities.

The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

The American Association of People with Disabilities

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is a convener, connector, and catalyst for change, increasing the political and economic power of people with disabilities. As a national cross-disability rights organization, AAPD advocates for full civil rights for the over 61 million Americans with disabilities by promoting equal opportunity, economic power, independent living, and political participation.
