Jumpstart for Young Children, Inc.
Jumpstart, a leading national early education organization, helps break the cycle of poverty, giving children the “jumpstart" they need in life. Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. The organization's mission is to provide language, literacy, and social-emotional programming for preschool children from underserved communities and promote quality early learning for all. Jumpstart's unique approach - training college students and community volunteers on a developmentally appropriate, evidence-based curriculum to engage preschool children in language, literacy, and social-emotional skill development over an academic year – gives children from underserved communities the skills they need for success in kindergarten and beyond.
CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. We place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE's community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.
